Can You Put A Yeti Cup In The Dishwasher?

Yes, it is now safe to put your Yeti into the dishwasher!

How was it before?

Back before 2015, Yeti recommended and strongly went against the idea of using a dishwasher to clean your Yeti drinkware, and they had a good explanation on why. They believed that the intense heat in the dishwasher would cause you to lose the vacuum seal making the cup useless. This was their main reason for why they recommended not to put your Yeti drinkware into the dishwasher.

However, people were still putting their Yetis into the dishwasher with no damage made to the cup. The Yeti tumblers are made with 18/8 stainless steel which is known to take literal boiling water and have no damage. But since Yeti did not endorse this behavior, washing your tumbler through the dishwasher would void your warranty.

And how is it now?

After Yeti noticed that many of their customers had been placing their Yeti drinkware into their dishwashers, they decided to go and run them through their own tests. After they had put their own drinkware through dishwasher like conditions, finding that their drinkware was in fact unharmed. This caused them to change their stance on their drinkware being dishwasher safe, which now prevents you from losing your warranty by running it through the dishwasher.
