Fredericksburg Wine Barrel Cabins Review

When searching for a romantic stay in Fredericksburg, I was presented with many different houses, cabins, and hotels to stay at. While scrolling through all of the available options, one particular location made me do a double-take. The first photo I saw on Air BnB was a set of 4 cabins that were built to look like wine barrels. As I clicked through and saw the immense detail of the Wine Barrel Cabins and noticed how close it was to Main St, I was sold!

About The Wine Barrels

The Wine Barrel Cabins in Fredericksburg Texas are a unique set of cabins embodying what Fredericksburg is most known for: wine. Each cabin was hand-built and designed specifically for each wine theme. Located just minutes from Main St, these cabins are one of the most unique and convenient places to stay in Fredericksburg. The property the cabins are located on is very secluded and offers a peaceful experience for those looking to stay somewhere quiet and romantic.

What Cabins Are Available?

Currently, there are 4 cabins available at the Wine Barrel Cabins Of Fredericksburg, Texas. These include Chardonnay, Rose, Tempranillo, and Cabernet. Each cabin has been meticulously designed to suit each style of wine, giving them each their own personality and style. Let’s take a closer look at each cabin.

Chardonnay

As one of the most popular types of white wine, the 'wine flight' begins with this themed cabin. Guests will delight in the elegantly designed and decorated space, featuring a beautiful gold penny glass tile shower, color-matched quartz countertops, a whimsical wine barrel vanity sink, and a luxurious king bed. The interior is adorned with gold and champagne tones, evoking the essence of Chardonnay.

Rose

No wine flight would be complete without a tasting of Rosé. As one of the most popular wine choices, a Rosé-themed cabin was a must-have in their 'wine flight'. This elegantly designed and decorated cabin features a beautiful marble tile shower with pink and blush tones, color-matched quartz countertops, a charming wine barrel vanity sink, and a luxurious king bed. The interior is adorned with rose gold, pinks, and other tones, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that embodies the spirit of Rosé.

Tempranillo

The Tempranillo grape thrives in Texas, particularly in the Hill Country, where many wineries produce exceptional Tempranillo wines. To honor this grape, they have dedicated their third cabin in the 'wine flight' to Tempranillo. Step into this elegantly designed cabin, where you'll be greeted by a stunning array of purples and burgundies, reminiscent of the rich tones found in Tempranillo wines. The cabin features a beautiful marble tile shower, color-matched quartz countertops, a charming wine barrel vanity sink, and a luxurious king bed. Relax and unwind in the comfortable sitting chairs, perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or an evening glass of Tempranillo.

Cabernet

As a fitting finale to the 'wine flight' of cabins, we couldn't overlook the classic Cabernet. This elegantly designed cabin features a beautiful maroon and burgundy color scheme, paying homage to the rich tones of Cabernet wines. Step inside to discover a stunning cabernet-colored accent in the tile shower, color-matched quartz countertops, a charming wine barrel vanity sink, and a luxurious king bed. The interior of this wine barrel is adorned with deep burgundy, maroons, and reds, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that embodies the essence of Cabernet. Relax and unwind in the comfortable sitting chairs, perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or an evening glass of Cabernet.

My Experience At The Wine Barrel Cabins

My experience at the Wine Barrel Cabins was nothing short of spectacular. My first stay was in Chardonnay and was a quick getaway for my girlfriend and I. Pulling up to the cabins set the tone that this was going to be a quiet and secluded stay, which was exactly what we were looking for.

A crushed granite pathway led us from the parking area to each of the Wine Barrel Cabins. The hosts are very professional and ensure you have your door code and entry instructions well ahead of check-in time. While I will admit, walking up to a giant wine barrel was a first for me, it was certainly a special experience.

Walking into Chardonnay, you are immediately enveloped with interior design cues, tones, and a general overall feel of what a white wine should feel like. The inside walls were stained with a natural color and the furniture was hand-picked to compliment the overall aesthetic of the cabin. We were greeted with a personalized note and two mini bottles of wine as a surprise, a subtle touch that showcased the host’s commitment to quality.

The first thing you will most likely notice about the cabins is the elegant shower with glass walls. This leaves the cabin feeling more open while giving you a one-of-a-kind showering experience that brings the whole cabin together. The back patio is also a great addition to sip your morning coffee or a nice glass of wine in the evening. Each wine barrel patio overlooks the small pasture between the cabins and the road at the front of the property. As someone who enjoys peace and quite on a patio, the Wine Barrel Cabins easily checked that box.

Being 5 minutes from Main St, the Wine Barrel Cabins allow you to easily get to and from the hustle and bustle of downtown. We opted to Uber one night and found that this was a very easy route for ride-share drivers.

Overall, the Wine Barrel Cabins is truly an amazing experience that really ties the whole Fredericksburg experience together. I have stayed in quite a few Air BnB’s in my day, and this one is at the top of my list, not only from a unique factor, but professionalism from the hosts. We can’t wait to stay here again!
