How Do You Get Coffee Stains Out Of A Stainless Steel Tumbler?

Here are 4 tricks on helping you get those pesky coffee stains out of your Yeti stainless steel tumbler or any other stainless steel tumbler. We will go over what to use and then how to use it, and most likely the things we will be using you already around your house so no need for a trip to the store, hopefully.

Trick #1 - Denture Tablets

This one may seem a little odd but once we explain it you will see that it makes sense, because denture tablets are usually to help get rid of tobacco and coffee stains off of dentures. What you do is fill your mug with water and then drop the tablet into the cup, then let it do its thing. Once done and rinsed out you may still need to scrub a bit, but the stains should come up quite easily.

Trick #2 - Hydrogen peroxide & baking soda

So as we mentioned earlier most of these solutions are most likely going to be things that you will normally find around your home, hydrogen peroxide and baking soda both being extremely useful in almost every situation. What you do is place a half of a cup of hydrogen peroxide then add 2 tbsp of baking soda to your mug with water in it. Then just let the solution sit for about 30 minutes and then scrub while completely rinsing out your Yeti stainless steel tumbler.

Trick #3 - Vinegar & baking soda

Another easy solution made from things you already have in your home is with vinegar and baking soda. With this all you do is fill your tumbler half way with warm water, add 2 tsp of baking soda, then top off with vinegar, you will notice it foam, and let it soak for 10 minutes. Once this is complete all you need to do is again rinse out all of the solution completely.

Trick #4 - Dishwasher detergent & boiling water

So this one is pretty simple and requires the least amount of effort. You will start by adding boiling water to your tumbler and then add the detergent of choice. From this point walk away for 30 minutes while the solution does its job. Both the hot water and detergent will help loosen up any coffee stains, so even after this you still have stains all you need to do is wipe it out with a washcloth, and then again rinse.

How Do You Clean A Yeti Tumbler?

Let’s start by rinsing out the cup. Your cup should be completely empty from all other content that you had in your cup, such as tea, coffee, soda, water and whatever else you may put in your Yeti Tumbler. Once you have emptied your cup, let's get some hot water, the hot water is what helps dissolve any leftover residue that is stuck to your cup, and then lastly rinse. For the hard stains that you can’t get out, let it sit with hot water for about 20 minutes to help soften the residue, letting you get them stains out with little effort.

Once you have rinsed the cup completely, give it a proper washing with a dish cleaning wand or a dish cloth, and below we will share how you can put your tumbler into your dishwasher.

Now all that's left to do is rinse your cup from all of the cleaning product and then you can either dry the cup with a towel, or just by leaving it out to dry.

Cleaning Your Yeti Rambler Lid

Now as for the lid since it IS NOT dishwasher safe you will need to clean it by hand, and trust me you’re going to want to. The rubber gasket in the lid is a breeding ground for mold, so with that information let's talk about how to clean this lid so you’re not drinking mold or anything else that has got under the rubber gasket. You will need to remove the rubber gasket from the lid, while making sure to not damage the gasket so you don’t lose the vacuum seal. Once you have removed the gasket you will wash both the lid and gasket thoroughly, rinse, then put back together.

Can I Put My Yeti In The Dishwasher?

There was a time where Yeti would have told you not to put your Yeti stainless steel drinkware into the dishwasher but after they noticed that many of their customers had been placing their Yeti drinkware into dishwashers anyways with little to no consequences, they decided to go and run them through their own tests. After they had put their own drinkware through dishwasher like conditions, they found that their drinkware was in fact unharmed. This caused them to change their stance on their drinkware being dishwasher safe, which now prevents you from losing your warranty by running it through the dishwasher.
